10 WAYS TO GO THROUGH YOUR DIFFICULT TIMES.

Good advice here

thoughtsaboutthisandthat

Life is a struggle. If there is anything I have learnt, it is that life I a struggle. Sometimes we struggle less. Other times we struggle more.

About 4 months ago I found myself struggling more than usual. It was even worse because the struggle involved my daughter. I found myself in a situation which I did not know how to get out of. I fell into a deep sadness that took me quite a while to snap out of. I would cry myself to sleep each night for quite some time. Just like I did not know what to tell myself, I did not know what to tell my daughter.

I am glad that though it was quite costly in terms of money, emotions and psychologically, we managed to come out of the unfortunate situation. I am glad that it now looks like something that happened a long time…

The Rivalry Begins

Polar bears tussling- courtesy national geographic

The rivalry is intense if you consider what has been happening to this facebook page, in the  past two days. One fan,  a Man United fan happened to comment negatively about Arsenal on the page. Now the admin is a die hard Arsenal fan and a popular  radio presenter, so she removed the fan from the group.

The group started from a popular radio program on the English Premier League and as you would have it most of the listeners were either Man United or Arsenal fans. At the start since the admin wanted numbers name calling and trolling were common or the admin would just remove any offensive post(read anti-Arsenal).

As the group prospered more hardcore United fans joined leading to the situation which happened a few days ago. This guy by the name Nick Njacy dared to question the ability of Arsenal to challenge for the UEFA champions League and inadvertently called Arsenal fans clowns.

He was removed immediately. Now Njacy has been popular on the group and the reactions have been just so negative. Some of them are.

Ile ku troll naenda kuwatroll hapa, you will wish Nick Njacy was here and Mapesa blocked.
I am now officially doing a two man job.
I was posting approximately 15 posts a day only about arsenal, I am now doubling to 30, Paying tribute to Njacy.

If you can’t stand your team being critisized then stop being happy critisizing other teams.Don’t step on other people’s toes if you can’t bear the pain of being stepped on.GIVE WHAT WHEN GIVEN BACK TO U CAN TAKE WITHOUT ANY COMPLAINS.
“TIT FOR TAT IS A FAIR GAME.”

I don’t know how the admin will solve it but it’s just the beginning. The love for the beautiful game continues. In two days there will be silence.. Then most of the fans will be on one side cheering Kenya against Cape Verde, world cup qualifier.

From there the rivalry and enemity resumes.

OWN MEMORY LANE: MANCHESTER UNITED VS INTER MILAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINALS 1999

Man United had always promised to deliver but they always came unstuck. The previous two seasons they had lost at the semi-final stage. In 1996-1997 season they had lost narrowly to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg that is 1-0. Man United fans were optimistic they would turn things round in the second leg. How wrong they were an early goal by Lars Ricken settled the contest.

The dreams of many United fans and England had been shattered. The English teams had not won the Champions League /European Cup since Liverpool had lifted it in 1985.

In the 1997/98 season they met Monaco again failure was waiting for them. David Trezeguet scored early but although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer equalised it was not enough to see them sail through to their first European cup final since 1968. They  were eliminated on away goals.

So here they were in the quarter finals again and against one of the best team in Europe that time. Although Inter Milan lacked the services of the great Ronaldo  their squad was star studded.

Youri Djorkaeff had just won the world cup with France. Javier Zanetti and Diego Simeone had also starred for Argentina in the 1998 World Cup. Ivan Zamorano was a proven goal scorer for Milan and Chilean national team.

The other interesting part was Beckham was meeting with Diego Simeone after their 1998 world cup altercation.

The game was won in the first half with two identical goals by Dwight Yorke from David Beckham crosses.  The road to camp nou and to the greatest game in Manchester United history had just began.

Manchester United 2 West Bromwich 0

Lingard celebrates his goal against West Bromwich Albion

Jesse Lingard the man of the moment. For the second game running he has been my man of the match.
I am just now wondering when Depay will get a chance. Is what happened to Angel Di Maria about to happen to Depay?
From what I have seen Van Gaal loves teamwork and Depay has the habit of being selfish with the ball.
The game against West Bromwich was just like I had said. Manchester United took control of the possession and West Bromwich defended resolutely. By halftime Man United had 78% possession of the ball. A record for them this season.
Despite so much the chances were at a premium. The whole half they had seven attempts with one attempt on target, which is not pretty to the fans.
In their last two games the side ways passes have decreased and the team is a bit more direct.
The goal came as a surprise, Rojo’s cross was hopeful but the Bromwich defence made a harsh of it clearing straight to young Lingard. The rest is history.
The goal lifted Bromwich from their shell and Saido Berahino should have done better heading to row Z when unmarked in the box.
They were punished immediately for that miss. Manchester United broke and Anthony Martial speed was too much for Gary McAuley and he received his marching orders.
Something that also impressed me is Van Gaal willingness to give youngsters a chance. The game was still in the balance with West Brom pressing for an equaliser but Van Gaal decided to sub Marcos Rojo for 17 year old Borthwick-Jackson. That is good for the development of the younger players.

Manchester United vs Arsenal at a glance

Arsenal vs Manchester United at a glance

the rivalry is unprecedented

11 game’s in the epl, Man City still leads Arsenal albeit on goal difference. Leicester remains the surprise package. They have only lost one game,  together with Tottenham.

Manchester United struggles in front of goal continues. They have failed to score in their last two games. Rooney has been struggling for form, you wonder if it’s Van Gaal style of play or age is at last catching up with him.

Arsenal continue to impress with their style of play and confidence. Right now every arsenal fan, even those who had emigrated to Chelsea have found their voices. I hope it is for along time or those ‘Wenger out ‘ banners and hash tags will reappear.

Case in point is the loss against Olympiakos, every Arsenal fan was baying for Wenger’s head but that changed immediately after Arsenal whitewashed Manchester United at the Emirates.

For Manchester United the season is dull to them. Dull just like the football their team is playing. While fans want Van Gaal to revert Man United to the olden days of attacking football, Van Gaal doesn’t see it that way. Van Gaal is obsessed with possession football and team balance. Not forgetting the Philosophy,  on a clipboard.

Manchester City is still the team to beat while Chelsea are still digging for Oil. Hope they get it soon and faster.

So far eleven games have been played..

Arsenal wins: 8

Man United wins: 6

Each team has lost two games. Arsenal’s goal difference is 13 while Man United’s is 7.

Currently Arsenal leads the form table having won their last five epl games.

Next fixture.

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal. Arsenal require a win to maintain their record of qualifying to the second leg.

Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow. Man United also require a win to at least guarantee themselves a chance for the next stage.

THE DERBY.

Manchester United play host to Manchester City today in the evening. It will be an intriguing match considering the stature of the two teams. For a long time Manchester City has always been in the shadows of United but in recent seasons it is United who have been on the receiving end.
Since the Arab money arrived at the Etihad(formerly Manchester City stadium -it was built for the 2002 Common Wealth games. At the time City were playing at Maine Road stadium) the complexion of the derby has changed. City famously trounced United  6-1at Old Trafford in 2011.
Last season City won at the Etihad but at Old Trafford they were by United. To date I think that was the best game Man united have played under Van Gaal.

Walloped

WHERE THE GAME WILL BE WON

The midfield of the two teams has the best talent in the premier League. For City Kevin de Bruyne stands out. His undestanding of the game is unmatched. He has developed a telepathic relationship which Yaya Toure such that the loss of Silva and Aguero to injury has not been felt. I expect de Bruyne and Toure to have a heavy influence on today’s game.If they turn up with their boots then we have a game on our hands.

For Man united Lvg set up his teams to control possession. The aim is deny the opponent the ball until he submits then score. Man united have had few shots on target which have resulted in goals. Morgan Schneiderlin started slowly but he has improved as the season goes by. In the last two games he, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial have provided the spark for man united. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick slows the tempo of the game so one of them should start on the bench against Man City.

Man City will have to be wary of Anthony Martial. He is fast and confident with the ball. Wayne Rooney may also have an influence considering he is the Man united player who has scored more goals against City. Raheem Sterling showed last weekend he has come of age and can be trusted to score goals for City.He may also have the last say on this game.
Probable line ups: Man United.
De gea,  Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Blind, Herrera, Carrick/Bastian, Schneiderlin Mata,  Rooney and Martial.
Man City : Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov, Toure, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sterling, Navas, Bony.

Prediction Man United 2 Man City 1

Arsenal 2 Everton 1

Two things stood out yesterday, Arsenal are serious title sContenders and Chelsea continue to stutter on the brink of total collapse.
Matters are not good for Chelsea as a whole. Mourinho is in trouble and it may not be long before Abramovitch strikes. I  wonder who will replace him considering Ancelotti was fired unceremoniously and he is the only pedigree coach available for now.
Chelsea had even the audacity to question goal line technology
Athough some of the officiating was a bit wanting.

ARSENAL ON A ROLL
The question on everyone lips is which team will stop Arsenal. Everyone expected them to be put on the sword by Bayern Munich on tuesday but they passed that test with flying colours. Yesterday I gave Everton a chance to trouble the gunners but Everton failed miserably. While Ross Barkley scored just before halftime to give the toffees hope arsenal defended well in the second half and could have easily scored more.

KING OF ASSISTS
Mesut Ozil is the main man being this arsenal revival. He has now provided seven assists this season. If he maintains that consistence then I see no reason why arsenal wont be champions next may.  But its with a caution, Arsenal have always flattered to believe so we will have to wait until mid march where boys are separated from men.
For now they are the inform team and are picking up points you expect them to win. They have also performed a bit well against the big boys.
They walloped Man United and had a good game against Chelsea and most of their fans thought they were robbed by the referee.

For Everton things were rosy two weeks ago and even the fans and the media had started to talk about a top four position. From their last two games it shows that they have a long way to go.

Man of the match Mesut Ozil.
